So I scrapped the photometric lighting for the sake of time and went to some advanced mental ray rendering. Using a Skylight and an MrOmni. There is another batch after this.

In Progress Preview 4: A Splash of Color and Gore



I have added a third layer to what will eventually be an animated 3 layer bleed through animation of the carpal tunnel syndrome. A little splash of color livens things up a bit.

I altered the hand/bone dimensions so that it was a little more human, and a little less mutant.

Hand Model (In Progress Preview 2)




















The models are progresseing. I have a fully functional bones layer underneath the skin layer. For the skin layer, I plan on adjusting finger legnth a bit more so it properly houses the bones, and I am going to adjust the musculature on the hand muscles a bit more. After that, it will be time to start getting some color in there.
The next layer I will be adding to the mix will be an interior muscle layer that will also feature some nerves and specific ligaments.

New Beginnings...

Version 4.0 of the website is being designed as I type this. I am remaking ronindms.com in flash, and it will incorporate all that I have learned since the last version of the site (html), which is getting a bit long in the tooth.

There is a shit ton of new animation/motion graphics work which will be posted that is, as of now, unseen outside of the clients they were designed for. I am looking to have a much friendlier interface, with galleries and videos all grouped in a more dynamic fashion that is easier to navigate and better to look at. Once I am completely done with 4.0, I will start adding more substance to this blog as well, which as always happens, falls by the wayside when I get busy.

The new star of the blog and website will be the organic modeling section, where I will post much new content that I am designing in mudbox and bringing to life in 3ds max and maya.
