Back Into Maya... -WaveBall-

There was a long stretch where the only 3d program I would use was Maya. I happened to switch schools, and AI was primarily a 3ds MAX school. In an effort to completely learn 3ds MAX, which everything 3d on this site has been made in, I shut out Maya so I could learn it more thoroughly. Now that I am on my own, I am at liberty to use both to my hearts content. While I do love using 3ds Max, especially in building polygonal models and scenes, the special effects that you can achieve in Maya , especially the latest versions, are incredible. I just made this moving ocean ball, or "waveball". I can achieve something similar in MAX, but it would take much longer than the couple minutes it took me to make this in Maya.

Slaughter House Pictures Demo

This is an animation I have that is still in production. It is to be the movie-intro for a Miami-Based horror studio called Slaughter House Pictures.

This does not contain audio just yet, nor does it have the logo-based ending yet, both are being worked on. Kepp in mind, this is internet quality, so the final product will look much better.

3d Head Demo 2: Wind and Face Animation

This demo shows off some basic facial animations such as blinking and furrowing the brow. It also shows off wind physics as whips through the hair.

3d Head Model Demo 1

Low Polygon (nice for low poly, eh?) head I made in 3ds Max. This demo shows the head itself. I came up with this model as I was modeling for characters in the radiohead animation. This will be a series as I find ways to animate and show off the model and effects.

Updates

I have been quite busy as of late. It all started with the radiohead contest animation, which i will talk about in just a bit. In the creation of a few characters and laying out the storyboards, I have realized, that even with the help of Andrew, there wasnt enough time to animate for this contest AND have it at the quality necessary for it to win, so I am still going to make it, but at my own pace. So, I will still be animating a video to the latest Radiohead album, but it wont be for the contest. The song being used currently is "Jigsaw Falling Into Place".

On the upside, some personal projects sprouted out of the creation of the assets for the animation, a few of which I will be sporadically posting on here in art round-ups in the future. I am also in the process of creating an Intro bumper animation for Slaughter House Pictures, which will be used at the beginning of their released movies.

Anyways, more as it comes, and in terms of art, there will be a lot.

Lots To Do...

Currently slaving away on the illsutrated storyboards for the Radiohead contest. 48 Boards total, so I need to keep on crackin' if I am gonna have them done by mid week. I wanted them done by today, but I won't make a sacrifice in quality for time if it only means a couple days...

I will be posting some new art up soon...
